Dr. Albert P. Li has over 30 years of experience in drug discovery and
development. He was one of the pioneers in the application of in vitro
systems in the evaluation of drug properties. He co-developed the
CHO/HGPRT gene mutation system for industrial applications early in his
career in Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Lovelace Inhalation Toxicology
Research Institute and Monsanto Company. He was one of the pioneers in
the application of human hepatocytes in the evaluation of drug
metabolism, drug-drug interactions, and drug toxicity.
Dr. Li was previously Senior Fellow of Monsanto Company, one of the
highest technical level in the company; Professor and Director of the
Surgical Research Institute, Department of Surgery, St. Louis
University Medical School; Chief Scientific Officer of In Vitro
Technologies, Inc., a Baltimore-based in vitro contract research and
products company; and President and C.E.O. of Phase-1 Molecular
Toxicology, Inc., a toxicogenomics company based in Santa Fe, New
Mexico. Dr. Li founded APSciences in October, 2003.
Dr. Li has over 150 peer-reviewed publications and have edited 5 books
and 4 special journal issues in the area of drug development. Dr. Li is
current editor of the Hepatocyte Reports of Chemico-Biological
Interactions.
